I do think they deserve the death punishment, after all they did to that family. Truman Capote, he is kind of between, he can’t decide if they can live or not but at the same time he wrote in a way to express their feelings that made me feels like they dont need to die

I don't think that they should have got the capital punishment. Yes they are murderers, but no matter what you do nobody deserves to die. Only God can judge who lives or not. When we make decisions like that we start to play God. I think Truman Capote didn't think they deserve to die. Which is why instead of making them look like senseless killers, he gave their background story and the hardships that they had a life to make you feel for the characters enough to question your judgment of whether they were in the wrong or not. You can't help but feel bad for these two people and you begin to blame it on their past kind of excusing the actions a little bit. Even though we all know murder is wrong our subconscious says, but look at his past look at what he went through.

In all honestly I don’t believe Dick and Perry didn’t deserve the capital punishment. Although they might’ve not have had a reason I still believe they are human beings. Even if they showed no emotion or remorse it’s still believable that people can change. It was a murder that was in all honestly so worthless and waste less. They absolutely gained nothing from it and lost even more then they did already. Receiving the capital punishment I feel is an inhuman thing. We all do things that God can judge us from and maybe haunt us but that’s because we decided to do it and after it’s up to us to see if we want to continue this cycle. I believe both Dick and Perry could’ve changed.

Yeah Jazlynn I totally agree we all have done things we are not proud of. Dick and Perry dd do something terrible but I would rather them suffer and think about their actions rather than just die. At the end of the day they are humans and do not deserve to die because of something they probably regret. Then again neither did the Clutters
